Royal Historical Society Bibliography of British and Irish History
Royal Historical Society Bibliography of British and Irish History
The Royal Historical Society has been involved in the production of bibliographies of British and Irish history for a century, but the project to produce an electronic database began in the 1990s. The database has been available online since 2002 and a printed version is no longer produced.
We include published material on British and Irish history from the Roman period onwards, and on relations with the empire and Commonwealth, including articles from electronic journals, regardless of place and date of publication - we aim at thorough coverage of publications from 1901 onwards. For more information, see http://www.rhs.ac.uk/bibl/docs/scope.html.
The project is based at the Institute of Historical Research which is itself part of the School of Advanced Studies, University of London. It includes data from two other projects, Irish History Online (based at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth) and London's Past Online (which is also based in the Institute of Historical Research). Information about publications on Scottish history is provided by a separate team working under the auspices of the Scottish Historical Review Trust.
